The Cakecity Patisserie was set up in July 2016 with the vision of offering delectable delicacies through unbelievable craftsmanship and unwavering passion for perfection.
Initially, following the clicks-only model, their flagship store came about in less than a year at the high street market of Galleria, DLF Phase 4. The team feels honoured and privileged to sit among major brands like Starbucks, Naturals, Chaayos, Keventers, etc. Not to forget, they have come up with their 2nd outlet in Ardee City, Gurugram.
A gap was identified in the already booming F&B industry to focus on exquisite presentation and impeccable taste in the baking world. Having worked with some of the renowned International Chefs and MOFs, the founders Alaap and Tushar feel that the level of pastry arts in India is still at its turning page. The weather not being favorable for most part of the year and with ingredients not always readily available, it wasn’t really a cakewalk to consistently roll out the products.
The idea was not just to sell about any cake but provide a unique global mix of specialty offerings such as French Opera, Sacher Torte from Austria, Italian Tiramisu, and at the same time not compromising with the Indian palate for popular cakes such as Pineapple and Blackforest cake, to name a few.
The owners always wanted to go with a name which was easily comprehensible and doesn’t take more than a split second for anyone to relate. Hence, Cakecity was a perfect match. They later on added Patisserie as we felt providing cakes alone, no matter how good they are, might not be a good business proposition. CakeCity now has a complete end-to-end bakery solution for the customers – be it cakes, pastries, entremets, breads, puffs, viennoiserie, cake jars, macarons, cupcakes, cookies, pies/tarts, high tea cakes and many more.
The Cakecity team always wanted to portray themselves as a premium brand yet with wide acceptance across all income brackets. They wanted to introduce cakes and pastries which have always been confined to the four walls of a 5 – star hotel and, at a price for which customer won’t have to think twice.
